Sisters Are Great

Lately I’ve been reflecting on the roles that different people and times have played in my life. Maybe it’s because I began a new decade this past year, maybe not, but in any case, I have thought a lot about my “sisters.” Now, I didn’t have a sibling sister, but I sure found wonderful friends along the way. Women who have really made a difference in my life and I consider them to be my sisters. These are women who have taught me so much, been sounding boards, and in general have made my world and the world at large a better place … people that I am so proud, humbled and fortunate to know. As our lives have changed from young women, sometimes we have struggled to stay in touch as families and careers pull us in different directions. But this doesn’t mean that their impact was any less significant. I decided it was time to celebrate the gift of sisterhood, no matter what the bond. From laughter to tears, and everything in between, the only thing I can hope is that I have given back as much to them.

Thus, my latest collection is Sisterhood. It celebrates the unique bond between sisters, whether they are family, sorority or an extra special friend. It is a fun-loving look at such a special relationship. Sisterhood also coordinates with my last release, Year Round for an even bigger selection of things to make great pages. You can find both kits at ScrapGirls.com.

Every year I make family year books for Christmas. And every year, it is a hunt to find a kit that can be coordinated for a whole year’s worth of images. So, I decided to create a kit that could do just that and the result is Year Round. It is a versatile kit with plenty of fun embellishments and month word art. You can make plenty of pages from this kit alone, but it also neutral enough that you can add more specific event elements to really personalize your pages.

Life is made up of everyday moments. Capture the little things that mean a lot with Year Round, a sophisticated, yet playful digital scrapbooking collection. Now, for moments big or small, no matter what time of year, you’ll always have the perfect kit! Great for Project 365 or Project 52. You can also get it until midnight MST Dec. 31st for a great price with the huge sale going on at ScrapGirls.com

I entered the ScrapMatters.com Design Star contest to win a job designing digital scrap kits. Round one had 100 contestants and you can see all the kits at ScrapMatters.com. Of these, they selected 24 contestants to move on to the 2nd and 3rd rounds. For a limited tme, to see and DOWNLOAD the kits you will have to register for the forum and while logged into the forum, you can click on gallery and scroll to the bottom for the Design Star Round One kits. The gallery may ask you to log in again. I am DS130 and my kit is titled “Nutty for Paisley.” It’s at the top of the second page of the gallery. While you are there you can go to the Welcome forum thread and say hello and if you mention that DS130/GopherGirl sent ya’, it would greatly appreciated. I wish I could load it here, but it is against contest rules, sorry. Once you register though, you can download any of the kits you like in the Design Star Gallery.
