I thought I would share a layout using the Assemble Your Own: Alpha Charms. I loved the bathing suit she has on in this photo when I saw it in the store. She didn’t need it, but it was so happy looking and screamed summer with it’s bold-colored thin stripes, so I bought it. She only wore it this one time, for she outgrew it instantly. So, here’s to the super cute bathing suit and having fun in the summer sun.

Here’s a layout made with the Winter Wonderland collection available at Scrapgirls.com. This was the first snowman the kids ever made. We just haven’t had enough snow to actually make one until this day. The kids were very excited, although I’m not sure which was the best, the snowman or the hot chocolate afterward.

I’ve got a freebie for you in my store at scrapgirls.com! This one coordinates with both my Year Round Collection and Sisterhood Collection, plus, would make a great addition to valentine cards or layouts. Here is a layout using the freebie. Although you could easily put ribbons or strings on the sides, when I saw Thao’s calendar templates, I was struck by the overall shape match to the date boxes. To fit it one of these boxes, I just deleted the side loops and voilà … a perfect match. With all of the date items in the Year Round Collection, making a calendar was easy. The collection’s papers are designed with a whole year of scrapbooking in mind. So here is my January page!

Sisters Are Great

Lately I’ve been reflecting on the roles that different people and times have played in my life. Maybe it’s because I began a new decade this past year, maybe not, but in any case, I have thought a lot about my “sisters.” Now, I didn’t have a sibling sister, but I sure found wonderful friends along the way. Women who have really made a difference in my life and I consider them to be my sisters. These are women who have taught me so much, been sounding boards, and in general have made my world and the world at large a better place … people that I am so proud, humbled and fortunate to know. As our lives have changed from young women, sometimes we have struggled to stay in touch as families and careers pull us in different directions. But this doesn’t mean that their impact was any less significant. I decided it was time to celebrate the gift of sisterhood, no matter what the bond. From laughter to tears, and everything in between, the only thing I can hope is that I have given back as much to them.

Thus, my latest collection is Sisterhood. It celebrates the unique bond between sisters, whether they are family, sorority or an extra special friend. It is a fun-loving look at such a special relationship. Sisterhood also coordinates with my last release, Year Round for an even bigger selection of things to make great pages.
